Milen Valchev
Hi there! As you probably already read, my name is Milen and I am a software engineer with over 7 years of experience in the IT industry. I started my career as a full-stack developer, working on both backend, frontend, databases and creating the infrastructure, but later on I decided to focus on backend development, while I began to show strong interest in DevOps topics. Prior to my current role at Bosch, I worked for a couple of years at a smaller local software company, where I implemented various projects of high complexity and critical importance for the Bulgarian government. My current focus shifted towards implementing different services connected with IoT. I have been part of team Pioneers in BD since the beginning of 2021.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active by running, continue tinkering on various side projects, involving IoT, home automation, and other code challenges. Additionally, I am a big fan of the spicy/hot food, and I am always up to accept a challenge to try something more adventurous.
Overall, I am a very curious person, who is always eager to learn new things, and I am not afraid to take on new challenges.
My main focus area at the moment is a project for supporting Bosch Home Comfort (HC) in developing a Partner API and Developer Portal for their B2B partners. This RESTful Cloud API allows to control and monitor connected HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems, such as boilers or heat pumps. We work together with 40+ HC colleagues from different locations (e.g. Aveiro/Portugal, Lollar/Germany)
Team Pioneers inherited, after sunsetting the Smart Metering product the Energy Management Cloud Connector (EMCC), a solution enabling BSH Home Connect appliances (washing machines, dryers, dishwashers) accessible via the EEBUS SPINE IoT protocol. Our customer BSH participates in the InterConnect EU project where our software is used to make the energy consumption flexibility of such home devices available to energy management systems in order to make the electricity grid smarter, more efficient and greener. Main development stopped, but we maintained and supported the translator for couple of months more before handing over to the BSH themselves to integrate it.
Product development in the Smart Metering energy domain for administrating thousands of Smart Meter Gateway devices.
Customers: German utility providers, e.g. Stadtwerke München, StromNetz Berlin and Metering Süd.
It was an external business for Bosch.IO at this time, so we sunset that business due to the new IOB strategy and migrated customers data and systems to another solution.
